Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Thanks for having me. Nice to be asked, actually.

Host: So for anyone who hasn't been in yet, what can people come to you for?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Yeah, so it's pretty much everything really. Cuts, colour, balayage, highlights, blow-dries. And then hair-up for weddings and big nights out as well.

Host: Oh, so you do the special occasion stuff too.

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: We do, yeah. And treatments as well, if someone's hair's a bit battered and needs bringing back round.

Host: Right, that's handy. What kind of state do people's hair usually come in, in that case?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Honestly, it varies. Sometimes it's just dry ends. Sometimes it's been coloured a lot and it's lost its bounce. We just have a proper look and go from there.

Host: So there isn't really a typical customer then?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Not really, no. We get people in for a quick trim, we get brides planning their whole look, we get people who just fancy a change and aren't sure what change yet.

Host: Ha, that last one sounds like most of us. So what would you say makes you lot a bit different from other salons?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: We always start with a proper chat. Every single appointment. We listen first, we don't just get the scissors out.

Host: That sounds like it slows things down a bit, though?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: It does, a little. But that's the point, really. We're not rushing anyone through. It's not a production line.

Host: I like that. And is colour a big part of what you do?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Massive part, yeah. But we're not about chasing whatever's trending that week. We'd rather do colour that actually suits the person.

Host: Right, so it's tailored to them rather than copying a photo off Instagram.

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Exactly that. A colour can look amazing on someone else and just not work for you. We'd rather tell you that upfront.

Host: So who's this really for? Who should be booking in?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Anyone who wants a stylist that actually listens, honestly. Especially if you're nervous about a big change, or trying colour for the first time.

Host: That nervous thing is real, isn't it? People get quite attached to their hair.

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Oh completely. That's why the chat at the start matters so much. We'd rather talk it through properly than you sit there worrying.

Host: And brides as well, you mentioned?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Yeah, brides especially. There's enough going on with a wedding without worrying about your hair. We just want that part sorted and stress-free for them.

Host: And overall, what do you want people to feel when they leave?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Like they've had a proper catch-up with friends, not just sat in a chair for an hour. That's genuinely what we're after.
