Host: Welcome to Get Heard Of, where local businesses tell you who they are and what they do. Today I'm chatting with ProSalon Supplies, who look after hairdressers up and down the country. Thanks for coming in.
ProSalon Supplies: Thanks for having me, it's nice to actually sit down and talk about it rather than rush off to a delivery van.
Host: Ha, I bet you're always on the go. So just to start, what does ProSalon Supplies actually do, day to day?
ProSalon Supplies: Yeah, so we supply salons with everything they need really, professional hair colour, the care products they sell on to clients, and then equipment too, chairs, trolleys, that sort of thing. We deliver it all straight to the salon.
Host: Right, so it's the full package for them.
ProSalon Supplies: Pretty much. The idea is they don't have to think about ten different suppliers, it's just one phone call.
Host: So what makes you different from another supplier doing the same sort of thing?
ProSalon Supplies: Honestly, I think it's the next-day delivery that people notice first. If a salon's run low on something, they genuinely can't afford to wait around.
Host: Yeah, that makes sense, you can't exactly tell a client to come back next week.
ProSalon Supplies: Exactly, so that's a big part of it. But the other thing is we've got an education team, and they actually go into the salon and run colour training there.
Host: Oh, really? In the salon itself?
ProSalon Supplies: Yeah, in the salon itself. So it's not someone travelling off to a course somewhere, it's brought to them, on their own floor, with their own kit.
Host: That's handy, it must save them a lot of hassle.
ProSalon Supplies: It does, and it means the training's relevant to what they're actually working with day to day, which I think makes a real difference.
Host: So who would you say this is really best suited to?
ProSalon Supplies: Independent salon owners, mainly. People running their own place, who haven't got a big chain behind them sorting all this stuff out.
Host: Right, so they're wearing a few hats already.
ProSalon Supplies: Loads, honestly. Ordering stock, managing staff, doing colours themselves half the time, so if we can take one thing off their plate, that's a win.
Host: What kind of orders or jobs do you typically deal with then?
ProSalon Supplies: It varies a lot. Some weeks it's a straightforward colour restock, other times it's a bigger order, new equipment, a trolley, that kind of thing.
Host: So it's not always the same sort of call coming in.
ProSalon Supplies: No, not at all. Some salons know exactly what they want, others are after a bit of advice on what might suit them, so we try to be flexible with that.
Host: And I imagine the next-day delivery really comes into its own when something's run out unexpectedly?
ProSalon Supplies: That's usually when we hear from people the most, yeah. Nobody plans to run out, it just happens, and we'd rather sort it fast than leave them stuck.
Host: It sounds like it's as much about being reliable as it is about the products themselves.
ProSalon Supplies: I'd say so. You can have great products, but if they don't turn up on time, what's the point, really.
Host: Well, that's been really interesting, thank you. If you're running your own salon and fancy sorting your colour, care products and equipment with one reliable call, do have a look up ProSalon Supplies. Thanks so much for joining us today.
