Host: Welcome to Get Heard Of, where local businesses tell you who they are and what they do. Today I'm chatting with the owner of Glow Room Beauty, a beauty salon doing everything from facials to nails. Thanks for coming in.

Glow Room Beauty: No, thanks for having me. Nice to get out of the salon for a bit, actually.

Host: Ha, I bet it's full on in there. So just to start, tell us what you actually offer at Glow Room Beauty.

Glow Room Beauty: Yeah, so we do facials, lash lifts, brows, nails, and waxing. Pretty much the usual stuff you'd want from a salon, but we don't rush any of it.

Host: Right, that word keeps coming up.

Host: What do you mean by not rushing it?

Glow Room Beauty: Well, every single treatment starts with a proper consultation. Not just a quick chat while you're sat down. We actually talk to you about what you want, what your skin's like, that sort of thing.

Host: Oh, that's a good point. A lot of places must just crack on straight away.

Glow Room Beauty: Honestly, yeah, some do. And it's fine if you're in a rush, but we'd rather take the time at the start so we're not guessing halfway through.

Host: So what's it like for someone coming in, start to finish?

Glow Room Beauty: You come in, we have a sit down and a proper talk first. Then whatever you're having, facial, nails, whatever, we just take our time with it. No clock watching.

Host: That sounds like it slows the day down a bit for you, though?

Glow Room Beauty: It does, a bit. But we'd rather do fewer people properly than rush loads through. That's just how we run things.

Host: So who would you say this is really best for?

Glow Room Beauty: Busy people, mostly. People who don't get much time to themselves and just want an hour where nobody's asking them for anything.

Host: Yeah? So it's as much about the headspace as the treatment itself?

Glow Room Beauty: Completely. I mean, you get your brows done or whatever, but half of it's just sitting there, not thinking about work or the kids or anything.

Host: That makes sense.

Host: What kind of people actually come through the door, generally speaking?

Glow Room Beauty: All sorts, honestly. Mums who need an hour off, women on their lunch break, people who've just had a mad week and want to switch off a bit.

Host: And do most people come in for one specific thing, or do they mix it up?

Glow Room Beauty: Bit of both. Some come religiously for the same thing every few weeks. Others fancy trying something different each time. We just go with what they want on the day.

Host: That's nice, keeping it flexible.

Host: Is there anything people are usually surprised by when they first visit?

Glow Room Beauty: Probably the consultation thing, if I'm honest. People aren't always used to being asked properly what they want. But they tend to like it once they realise we're not just rushing them in and out.
