Host: Welcome to Get Heard Of, where local businesses tell you who they are and what they do. Today I'm chatting to the team behind Ruby & Rose Hair Studio. Thanks for coming in.

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: No, thanks for having us. Good to be here.

Host: So just to start, give us the rundown. What do you actually do day to day at the salon?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Yeah, so it's your usual stuff really. Cuts, colour, balayage, highlights, blow-dries. We do hair-up too, for weddings and nights out and that.

Host: Right, so quite a range then.

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Yeah, and treatments as well. If someone's hair's a bit damaged, we try and get it back in good condition rather than just covering it up.

Host: That's good to know.

Host: So what would you say makes you different from other salons?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Honestly? We always start with a proper chat. A consultation, before anything happens. We listen first. We don't just get the scissors out.

Host: Oh, that's quite a nice way to do it.

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Yeah, it means we're not rushing anyone. And with colour especially, we do what actually suits you. Not just whatever's trending that month.

Host: That makes sense, because what's trending doesn't suit everyone, does it?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Exactly. We'd rather you leave looking like you, just a better version, you know.

Host: I like that.

Host: So who would you say this is really best for?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: I'd say anyone who wants a stylist that actually listens to them. We get a lot of people who are a bit nervous, maybe trying a new colour, or going for a big change.

Host: Right, that sort of thing can feel like a big step.

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: It can, yeah. So we take it slow with them. And brides too, we want it sorted so it's one less thing to stress about on the day.

Host: That's lovely.

Host: And what's the salon actually like to be in? What's the vibe?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: We try to make it feel like a catch-up with mates, not like a production line where you're in and out.

Host: Yeah?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Yeah, we're not trying to rush five people through in an hour. It's more relaxed than that. People chat, have a cuppa, it's nice.

Host: And in terms of the sort of jobs you deal with most, is it mostly the cuts and colour, or more the special occasion stuff?

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Bit of both, really. Day to day it's cuts, colour, the usual maintenance. Then alongside that you've got your weddings and your big nights out where people want hair-up.

Host: So there's always something different going on.

Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Pretty much. One minute it's a simple trim, next it's someone getting ready for a wedding. Keeps it interesting, that's for sure.
