Ruby & Rose Hair Studio GetHeardOf Podcast 1 October 2026 Host: Welcome to Get Heard Of, where local businesses tell you who they are and what they do. Today we're chatting with the owner of Ruby & Rose Hair Studio. Thanks for joining us. Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Thanks for having me. Nice to be here, honestly. Host: So just to start, tell us a bit about what you get up to at the salon. Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Yeah, so we do all the usual stuff. Cuts, colour, balayage, highlights, blow-dries. And then hair-up for weddings, big nights out, that sort of thing. We also do treatments if someone's hair's a bit damaged and needs bringing back round. Host: Right, so pretty much anything hair related, then. Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Pretty much, yeah. If it's on your head, we'll sort it. Host: Ha, good answer. So what would you say makes you different from other salons around? Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Honestly? Every appointment starts with a proper chat. We don't just stick you in the chair and get going. We listen first, we're not rushing you out the door. Host: That makes sense. A lot of places do feel a bit rushed. Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: They do, don't they. We'd rather take the time and get it right than do loads of quick appointments and have people leave unhappy. Host: And is that the same with colour? I imagine everyone wants the latest trend. Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: That's the thing, we try not to just chase whatever's trending. We're more bothered about what actually suits you. Your skin tone, your hair, your life really, not just a picture someone's shown us. Host: Oh, that's a good way of putting it. So it's less about copying and more about what works for the person. Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Exactly. And we want the salon to feel relaxed too. More like catching up with mates than, you know, being on a production line. Host: I like that. So who would you say is your ideal customer, if there is one? Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Anyone who wants a stylist who actually listens, really. We get a lot of people who are a bit nervous, maybe thinking about trying a new colour or a big change, and they just want someone to talk it through with first. Host: That nervous-about-change thing must come up a lot. Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: It does, loads actually. People worry they'll end up with something they didn't ask for. So we just talk it through properly before we do anything. Host: And brides as well, I'd imagine? Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Yeah, brides are a big one. We do hair-up for weddings and try to take the stress out of it for them. They've usually got enough going on without worrying about their hair. Host: So day to day, what sort of jobs are you usually doing? Is it more cuts, more colour, what's the mix like? Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Bit of everything, honestly. Colour work takes up a good chunk of it, balayage, highlights, that kind of thing. But we're doing cuts and blow-dries all the time too, and then treatments for anyone whose hair needs a bit of help getting back in shape. Host: Sounds like a proper mix of regulars and special occasions, then. Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Yeah, that's it. Some people pop in every few weeks, others it's a big night out or a wedding. We like having both, keeps things interesting. Host: Well, it sounds like a lovely place to get your hair done, and get properly listened to while you're at it. Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: That's the idea, anyway. Come and have a chat, no pressure. Host: Perfect note to end on. That's Ruby & Rose Hair Studio, go and say hello if you're after a cut, a colour, or just someone who'll actually listen. Thanks so much for coming on. Ruby & Rose Hair Studio: Thanks for having me, it's been a pleasure.
